SKYNEST is the home for a young professional couple who love the metropolis but cannot live without contact with nature and tranquillity.

In increasingly hectic urban centres, the home is becoming a space for contemplation and connection with nature. Even the pandemic has taught us how important it is to live in spaces where nature takes centre stage.

THE PROJECT

An indoor garden creates an outdoor area in the house, a real break from work and the hectic city. The roof terrace becomes the ideal place for socialising in the shade of the treetops. The architecture shape follows the natural design of a tree canopy and itself becomes a stepped roof, being also inspired by Roman symposium architecture.

It is the micro-house that can be placed on any unused space, e.g. on the flat roofs of buildings and skyscrapers. It is an urban house that brings nature back into the city thanks to the greenery inside, even on the highest floors.

The aggregation of several micro-houses forms new urban parks that look down on the city from above, attracting bird species that have now left the metropolitan context and creating a cooler and more humid microclimate that helps to lower the ambient temperature and improve air quality.

The aggregation of Skynest would allow it to absorb carbon dioxide and act like a filter, retaining CO2 and producing oxygen. The intention is that the presence of greenery can also positively influence the mood of building occupants, which is also activated by better light management, resulting in lower stress levels.
